We walked a little slower this morning. I wasn’t as concerned about reaching my step goal or checking off the “morning walk” from my to-do list. It was a beautiful morning, and I was settling back into our routine after a wonderful two weeks in Italy.

One of the chapters in our Lead Like Louie book is titled Sunrise, Sunset. I shared that Louie was all boy and was still very much a puppy at the time, and that was exasperating!

We all love to see the Amazon truck pull up to our house with a delivery a couple of hours after we hit the “Pay Now” button. And who doesn’t love seeing flowers being delivered to our home for no particular reason? But that is not the kind of delivery I am talking about.

Louie and I have been celebrating being together for ten years. WOW!! I realize we’ve learned so much from each other, but that doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten how tough it was in the beginning.

It has been a little over eleven years, and Louie still has one very annoying habit while we walk—he whines! Not constantly—just when we exit the garage, when we see one of his buddies (considering his excellent eyesight and keen sense of smell, that buddy could be down the street, around the bend, and over the hill), or when an alpha male is in the area—and there are a lot of those around.
