For many of us in leadership, the organizations we steward become platforms for influence. But more important than any organizational platform, is the individual platform we establish through everyday faithfulness at work. I was reminded of this recently when my friend and colleague Lisa Slayton left her role as CEO of the Pittsburgh Leadership Foundation (PLF) to launch a consultancy called Tamim Partners. Lisa’s impressive legacy at PLF includes innovative programming that guides Christians to integrate faith and work; extensive partnerships for community and city flourishing; sustained support of leadership foundations in other cities; and insightful service on the Boards of several national organizations.
Beyond all this, though, is the Lisa I have come to treasure – a mentor to many younger leaders; an important national voice for the faith at work movement; a faithful wife, selfless mother, thoughtful friend; and much more. Lisa reminds me that we build our working witness one day at a time, and that who we are becoming in Christ every day is even more important than how we are serving on any given day. Please join me in celebrating this new chapter in Lisa’s journey at work, and check out her new consultancy at www.tamimpartners.com.
