Faithful remnant

The word “remnant” appears 540 times in scripture. Time and again in Biblical history, it is a remnant of people who show the way forward, who overcome enormous obstacles, who create pivotal “tipping points”. Revelation 12:17 is a poignant example: “And the dragon was wrathful with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Here we find a dragon (Satan) unleashing warfare yet again against a faithful remnant of believers (the woman, who symbolizes Israel). At Work on Purpose has found that the catalyst for our growth is a remnant of faithful working Christians who, together in a missional community, courageously confront the “dragons” of secularized work in service to the sacred. So be encouraged! The next time you encounter your “dragon” at work, know that God is already celebrating your faithfulness and that He is already working for your good in even the most challenging work conditions (Romans 8:28)
