Hometown Hero: Paula Bussard

A true pioneer in workplace ministry, Paula Bussard has served for over 40 years in local church and para-church organizations, as well as publishing, marketing and public relations. She has authored 40 books, developed a multi-year educational and video curriculum for children, and produced national radio programs.

Her materials have been used by organizations as diverse as Procter & Gamble, Russ Berrie, Great American Life Insurance, David C. Cook, and a number of national publishers and ministries.

In 2005, Paula and her husband Larry began to pastor at New Hope Ministries in Colerain Township, one of the largest and poorest townships in the state of Ohio. As part of this ministry, Paula launched the Sharing Hope Center to support victims of trauma, crime, and serious life challenges.

Certified in trauma responsive care and in chaplaincy, Paula’s passion is to share hope that God brings resilience and healing to those confronting adverse childhood experiences; and sets free those who are held captive in their homes, controlled by domestic violence, addiction, and abuse. Her innovative programming has caught the attention of the state government, and even law enforcement, in Ohio.

Paula is on call to share her Center’s learning and prototypes. Want to learn more? Connect with Paula directly at Paula@SharingHopeCenter.org, or pbussard@time4net.org#AWOPHometownHeroes
